Brought together by common interests clubs and
organizations thrived at U.B.C. Energy seems to be in limitless supply as
students in various clubs and organizations arranged speakers, seminars,
potlucks, wine and cheese events and rallies.
Room 101 and 102 were venue of choice for more popular noon speakers. One
of the more notable events staged at noon this year was the First Nation’s
“Gitzan Debriefing”. Whether students were on side, ambivalent or strongly
sickened by the decision more than 200 people crammed into to listen to
the panel.

A number of the clubs provided the opportunity to
meet with downtown lawyers with similar interests. The Asia Pacific Law
Club was particularly active in this area with over 80 students and
lawyers attending its second annual “Law and the Pacific Rim” series.
Out of all the clubs and organizations at law school the Law Revue by far
involved the greatest number of students. We are a talented bunch, if we
must say so ourselves. Law Revue showcased the comedic to the professional
Broadway musical talent hiding in our midst.
