What has made our time
at law school interesting, challenging, and yes enjoyable has been the
faculty, staff and core organizations that make up U.B.C. Law. It is this
groups effort that consciously defined and framed our development as
aspiring young lawyers. A number of these
individuals will forever remain in our memories. Those who had the
questionable pleasure of a class with Professor Farquar will not forget
his dry humour. Nor will any of us forget the sometime political, always
engaging research librarian, Al Soroka. The drama of Professor Jackson,
the "on the edge" approach of Professor Wexler and Cohen all will not fade
with time. |

This year, in a well deserved tribute, Professor
Slutsky was awarded the coveted prize of Teacher Excellence. I know I am
at least one, of many students, whose lives he has had a positive
influence on. Although we have now all left
the halls of UBC to make our own mark on the world, the individuals and
core organizations we grew to know, love and hate will remain. A whole new
group of students will be embraced and their development like our own will
be framed by there enduring presence.
