PLAIN FUN: OBITER DICTA

I
t is the informal activities and just plain hanging out that seemed to bring about the best conversations and true rejuvenation of our sometimes deflated self-esteems.

Playing a brisk game of bubble hockey during a class break, seemed to re-awaken a mind that had, just minutes earlier, started to resist absorbing any more information on fiduciaries.

Free tickets to Grey Cup and other sporting events seemed like manna from the Gods when you’ve been studying more then you care to admit.

Impromptu tournaments of broomball and golf found more then enough willing participants. As did the home-coming parade.

Then of course is the “beer-up fund raisers”. Have a beer and support a club and get to r-e-a-l-l-y know your fellow classmates. Raffles, auctions and various food items (i.e. sushi) were used to entice the not so reluctant beer-up regulars.

Of course, one cannot forget the Salmon Bar-B-Que, Pancake Breakfast, Trike Race and the various dances and house parties our fellow classmates so graciously arranged; which all aided in making law school a more enjoyable experience then it might have otherwise been.
