Team Law

"No one will show and they can't play anyway.  Don't bother with women's basketball.
Join Hockey"

Hard Work Creates a Fighting Machine

Well after receiving that inspiring advice from the former captain.  I went about recruiting a team.  It was rough at first, but by January of '91 the team was really a team with a core of hard-working players.  The scraggy mob that first complained about blue T-shirts, and had skills which matched their attitudes was miraculously transformed (some left) into a really cool bunch of women who got together once a week to have a good time.

The year "Bob Law" now called "The Law Team" became a fighting machine, able to withstand black eyes, fat lips and bloody noses without so much as a default.  In January of '91 at one of the first games of the semester, we managed to go where we have never gone before, no not to the men's change-room...We actually went to the other team's basket, enough to break a double digit barrier.  We attained a score in the teens against a not so sweet sororate.  Our goals may have changed, but we reach them.  Next years goals: to win a game and to find a new captain to carry on the legacy.  To our third year players, Good Luck, we will miss you out there.

*NEWS FLASH**THIS JUST IN*  On February 11/91 Law scored 23 points (in one game) and...here is the good part...the opposing team scored only 12.  In other words...WE WON!!  Maybe some of you hockey players ought to think again.

None of us knew any
of the other members
before entering law
school.  What besides
the love of basketball
brought us together?
The desire for
humiliation beyond
moot court? Nah, just
a need to get away
from the law school
every once in awhile
and to socialize with
our peers on an
entirely different level.
