THE LEGAL RECORD: YEARBOOK

THE LAST WORD

I was quite surprised, as I am sure some of you, that I became our Yearbook Editor.  It was a title I admit, won by default since I had received the box from Jeanine as a staff member and then was the only person to show up at the Yearbook meetings arranged.  I suspect that those who originally considered the position decided to pass when they learned there was no office or materials beyond a 2' x 3' box, and the LSA did not grant a budget to further the effort.  Perhaps I too should have passed, but I took these factors as an added challenge to providing a better book then that of past years.

I do hope our Yearbook exceeded most of your expectations and was a reflection of your three years at U.B.C. I truly enjoyed having the opportunity, default or not, of reconstructing a part of our "history".

I would like to thank all those who helped make our Yearbook possible.  Clark Burnett and the various club and association presidents for submitting write-ups and organizing their members for group photos.  Sue Lawler, Penny Lipsack, Dave Berry, Dave Feldbloom, and in particular Simon Cridland for sharing photographs with me.  Penny Lipsack for helping to sort out a $7,000 accounting problem left over from past years.  Those students who contributed "blurbs".  And, last but not least Emiko Ando and Simon Cridland for agreeing to help distribute the books in Vancouver and Toronto.

See you in court, or on Maui.
